MAKE IT! Studio is a hands-on sewing and craft studio with a maximum of 9 students at a time. Due to our small class size and high demand during Summer Camp we added an amazing 2nd location in Park Slope. The space is in the exhibition space at the Japanese cultural institution, J-COLLABO on 7th st. We chose this location because it is a huge space, where we can break the class up into 2 age groups and now offer MAKE IT to 5 and 6 year old's! We also love that it is just a few blocks from JJ Byrne Playground, for some outdoor play time to break up the day with. Camp will be held daily from 9 am to 3:30 p.m. with a late pick up option to 5pm Our camp schedule is based on week-long themes all summer. This week’s theme, is inspired by what all kids love, KAWAII! Think over the top cute.. Pusheen, Squishables..all those adorable Japanese characters the kids (and many adults) love. Except they will create their own! Projects will include an adorable anime stuffy, kawaii upcycled T, kawaii character Bag or Fanny pack Shrinky dink jewelry, Ceramic trinket holders and so much more! Our teaching method is to encourage individual thinking and creativity by letting our students have the freedom to create what they imagine. By offering principles and design guidance to guide this creativity the children will be in a formal yet playful environment that will both teach and entertain. For our repeating students we make sure they continue to be challenged and that they have new projects to entertain them.
