Full day-MAKE IT CAMP! 8/7-11 @ 7th St

Service Description

Please note ALL students must be vaccinated against Covid 19 to participate in all our camps and classes. MAKE IT! Studio is a hands-on sewing and craft studio with a maximum of 9 students at a time. Due to our small class size and high demand during Summer Camp we added an amazing 2nd location in Park Slope. The space is in the exhibition space at the Japanese cultural institution, J-COLLABO on 7th st. We chose this location because it is a huge space, where we can break the class up into 2 age groups and now offer MAKE IT to 5 and 6 year old's! We also love that it is just a few blocks from JJ Byrne Playground, for some outdoor play time to break up the day with. Camp will be held daily from 9 am to 3:30 p.m. with a late pick up option to 5pm We noticed lots of children during the camp fair having difficulty deciding which theme to do, so we decided to offer a couple of themes where you get a taste of everything! For this week we will offer a variety of projects from each our theme weeks, including, one clothing item, a stuffy or pillow, fun jewelry, a piece made from fabric they will design and print or tie dye themselves, some pottery to decorate their room with and definitely a number of projects they can show off on their first day or school! They will learn to sew and learn new jewelry making techniques and textiles! Our teaching method is to encourage individual thinking and creativity by letting our students have the freedom to create what they imagine. By offering principles and design guidance to guide this creativity the children will be in a formal yet playful environment that will both teach and entertain. For our repeating students we make sure they continue to be challenged and that they have new projects to entertain them.
