Service Description

Sashiko Patch Workshop on July 18th & July 26 11 am to 1:15 pm Learn Sashiko Embroidery, make a one of a kind patch on July 18th, and use it to make your very own tote bag on July 26th. The first session on July 11th is not required in order to participate in sessions 2 and 3. AGES 18+ Join us for an afternoon at MAKE IT with Yui Quintero, and learn the fundamentals of sashiko stitching! Sashiko embroidery is a beautiful Japanese tradition of "visible mending" that combines utility with aesthetic appeal. In this workshop, we will provide all the necessary materials, with a beautiful selection of fabrics for you to create your own coaster-sized patch. During the session, you will: WORKSHOP SESSION - Learn traditional Japanese techniques for functional and decorative stitching. - Master the basics of "visible mending" to give new life to textiles. - Create a custome made patch - Make a one of a kind Tote using your Sashiko Patch Not to worry if you never used a sewing machine before, we will teach you how to operate it and design and make your own Sashiko Tote bag!
